"The Alzheimer's Bible" - The 36 Hour Day
Memory Care San Marcos Texas
"The 36-Hour Day" has almost exclusivley dominated Alzheimer's written work sales. It has provided caregivers a reference guide and support over the last thirty years. Updating with the times, it is on it's fifth edition at present. This is especially important as Alzheimer's knowledge has only recently become more widely spread, even in the medical world. It holds a special place in the development and dissemination of Alzheimer's information.
"Roughly 2.5 million copies later, “The 36-Hour Day” is marking its 30th anniversary with a fifth edition. It has lots of company on bookshelves now: memoirs, caregivers’ guides, children’s stories, supposed prevention programs. And the Web, of course, brings support and information from many sources, including the Alzheimer’s Association and Dr. Rabins’s own family support program. But “The 36-Hour Day” remains the bible."
It is notable that research is updated with every edition, and Dementia as an illness has been expanded upon, and less associated with Alzheimer's. Also elaborated upon in the most recent edition is the importance of understanding and recognizing early onset disease and new sections addressing insurance and caregiving decisions commonly faced.
